FlySafair is launching a new flight route connecting Johannesburg and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) in Mbombela, starting on 02 August 2024, with ticket prices starting at R950.
This new service will greatly benefit international travellers landing at OR Tambo International Airport who are looking to visit the Kruger National Park.
The flight schedule includes departures from Johannesburg OR Tambo to Kruger Mpumalanga every Friday to Sunday at 11:15 AM, arriving at 12:10 PM, and return flights from Kruger Mpumalanga to Johannesburg OR Tambo departing at 12:45 PM and arriving at 1:40 PM.
This new route follows the successful launch of direct flights from Cape Town to the Kruger National Park, further strengthening South Africa’s tourism infrastructure.
The connection from Johannesburg to Nelspruit aims to make it easier for international tourists to access popular destinations like the Kruger National Park.
According to Statistics South Africa, there has been a 15.4% increase in tourist arrivals from January to March this year compared to the same period in 2023, with 2.4 million tourists visiting in just those three months. This new route is expected to continue this positive trend, enhancing the travel experience for tourists and supporting the growth of South Africa’s tourism sector.
