Meta, the parent company of popular social media platforms Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram will soon introduce a feature on its Instagram app that will allow South African creators to monetize their content.

This means creators in South Africa will be able to monetize their Instagram Reels and earn money.

This was revealed during Meta’s Creators event on 4 July 2024 in Joburg.

Meta recently introduced this feature for content creators in Nigeria and Ghana, allowing them to earn revenue from advertisements on Facebook and Instagram, as both countries have gained eligibility for monetization.

Meta hasn’t provided the exact rollout date for South Africa, but it’s coming soon!
