The file-sharing platform, WeTransfer, has made a huge update and will now keep download links active for a longer period.
WeTransfer updated its link expiry policy, and will now be keeping links active for 30 days instead of the previous 7 days. However, this is exclusively available on the WeTransfer mobile app.
“Can you send that link again? It expired. “Are words you hopefully never have to utter again. We’ve listened, and we understand your concerns. Now, you can hold onto those transfers a little longer, extending the expiration date up to 30 days in the WeTransfer mobile app,” the company wrote in a notice.
Users can now extend transfer expiration dates up to 30 days within the WeTransfer mobile app, allowing them to save files for later.
The new Save for Later feature on the mobile app…as explained by WeTransfer in the notice:
‘The new “Save for Later” feature will help you avoid expired links and those awkward “Can you send it again?” moments. You can now save a transfer for later and extend the expiration date up to 30 days in WeTransfer mobile app, giving you more time to preview or download to your mobile device or send-to-self to access on your desktop. Your saved transfers are neatly organized in a section within the WeTransfer app so you can find them when you need them.’
How to use ‘Save For Later’ in the WeTransfer App:
- Download and open the WeTransfer App: Download the WeTransfer app in the App Store or Google Play Store, launch, and log in to your account
- Receive a Transfer: When you receive a new transfer, open the WeTransfer app.
- Save for Later: Tap on the transfer you want to save. You’ll see an option to “save for later”. Tap it!
- Extend Expiry Dates: If you need more time with a file, you can extend its expiry date up to 30 days directly from the saved transfers section. Select the file and choose a new expiry date.
- Access Files When You Need Them: Access the files you save in the app anytime you want. This lets you easily keep and access your saved in a dedicated section of the app.
