This week, our TV show pick is ‘Bel-Air Season 3.‘
The new season shakes things up by shifting the action from the school year to the summer. Will (played by Jabari Banks) and Carlton (Olly Sholotan) find themselves navigating the exclusive world of a country club— a place usually depicted as the playground for privileged young white kids.
Will’s summer takes a surprising turn when he meets Quentin, a character brought to life by rapper Vic Mensa. Quentin is an unconventional entrepreneur who’s made it big without losing touch with his culture, and his influence makes Will question whether basketball should still be at the center of his life.
Meanwhile, Carlton faces his own set of challenges. His struggle with addiction threatens to derail his Ivy League dreams, and the lies he’s told start to catch up with him, straining his relationships with his mother Viv (Cassandra Freeman) and sister Ashley (Akira Akbar). His new romance with Amira (Alycia Pascual-Peña), who has a taste for danger, adds another layer of complexity to his already complicated life.
Viv tries to find her place in the art world, while Phil (Adrian Holmes) is focused on expanding his law practice. Meanwhile, Hillary (Coco Jones) is caught up with Jazz (Jordan L. Jones) and her ex, pro football star LaMarcus (Justin Cornwell), all while trying to keep her influencer house thriving.
Well if you enjoyed the past two seasons, then you gotta check out this new season. From the blend of characters, packed with drama, tension, and explorations of identity and ambition, this season has a fresh take and solid storyline.
