Nike extends NBA and WNBA partnership until 2037

And will extend its rights for 12 more seasons.

Nike has signed a 12-year contract extension with the NBA and WNBA, continuing as their global partner until 2037 to supply uniforms, apparel, merchandise, marketing, and content for both leagues.



The Swoosh brand will extend its rights for 12 more seasons, designing and producing uniforms, on-court gear, and fan apparel for the NBA, WNBA, and G League, strengthening its commitment to growing and advancing basketball for the next generation.

The renewal builds on the eight-year global partnership started in 2015, which made Nike the official on-court outfitter from the 2017-18 NBA season.

Nike has been an NBA partner since 1992, a WNBA marketing partner since its launch in 1997, and a G League marketing partner since 2017.

Through this partnership, the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, and Nike will expand basketball for the next generation by introducing accessible youth programs, improving playing standards, and enhancing coaching and training resources for all abilities. They will also support girls’ basketball through initiatives like Jr. WNBA and Basketball Without Borders while boosting player development in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League.

Additionally, Nike will further expand its presence at key league events, including NBA Global Games, NBA and WNBA All-Star, the NBA and WNBA Drafts, NBA Draft Combine, NBA 2K Summer League, and the NBA G League Fall Invitational.

“Nike is inextricably linked to basketball and has helped fuel the growth and innovation around our sport for decades,” says NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. “With an added focus on youth basketball, our expanded partnership will create even more opportunities for aspiring players to learn and compete at all levels and for fans of all ages to engage with the NBA and WNBA.”
