As a follow-up to their initial collaboration in 2019, Reebok and Kiernan Forbes' (AKA) family have come together to successfully celebrate the rapper's legacy with the release of the SneAKA 2.0.

The AKA x Reebok SneAKA 2.0 was released this past weekend, Saturday, 16 November 2024, and was available nationwide at select retailers, including Reebok stores, Shesha, Sportscene, Archive, and Studio-88.

Fans from all corners of the country showed up to get their hands on the highly coveted SneAKA 2.0, which was released in a limited run of just 1,000 pairs.

The exclusive nature of the collaboration has been a buzz since its 2019 debut, leading to a rapid sell-out at most retailers, with many locations reporting an instant sell-out shortly after the launch.

Meanwhile, AKA's parents (Lynn and Tony Forbes), along with his team, also visited several retailers to experience the excitement firsthand and show their support for #Megacy.

One of the standout moments on the release day came from Lyn Forbes, AKA’s mother. While visiting various stores during her shopping experience, she unexpectedly got her hands on pair 1 of 1,000. She shared that this special pair would be dedicated to the Kiernan Forbes Foundation. Reflecting on the moment, she commented...

"Kiernan...he’s a miracle worker, he works in mysterious ways."

"My personal shopping experience highlight: I arrived at Shesha here in Sandton City and opened a box; and I actually had to buy a sneaker for a friend. I opened the box and inside the box was the card that I’ve wanted; the 1 of 1000 sneaker. That is the one I needed for the Kiernan Foundation."

"I think it's divine intervention, right? I think Kiernan has been guiding me all the way from Mall of Africa…and said, 'Mom, go to Sandton City…go to Shesha and you’ll find your 1 of 1000 there.'"

In expressing gratitude to all the supporters, Lynn said...

"Shout out to the #Megacy, Shout out to Reebok, Shout out to the fans…Shout out to all the stores that are stocking the SneAKA 2.0."
