adidas Originals Studio x Shelflife

This past weekend, we spent time with adidas and Shelflife for the two-day adidas Originals Studio, held at Shelflife in Rosebank, Johannesburg. The event was a vibrant mix of creativity, learning, and community, featuring interactive workshops, live podcast recordings and music.

Saturday kicked off with a live podcast hosted by Okay Wasabi, featuring stylist Chloe Andrea Welgemoed and photographer Andile Buka. They delved into their journeys in the fashion industry, sharing tips on networking, building relationships, and breaking into the creative space.

The afternoon workshop had attendees styling models and creating shoots, capturing and editing their own work in an immersive hands-on experience.

Creative Director Oratile Moh and designer Wanda Lephoto took the stage for Sundayโ€™s live podcast, diving into "The Process" of creating clothing and building a fashion brand. Their workshop session was packed with insights on craftsmanship, brand-building, and staying authentic in the competitive fashion world.

The event also included the launch of the adidas ADIZERO ARUKU sneaker. Known for dominating the lifestyle sneaker scene with the resurgence of OG silhouettes and reinterpretations of football classics, adidas now reinvents the ADIZERO running shoe. Built around the concept of perpetual movement, the ARUKU is a running-inspired lifestyle sneaker, blending athletic performance with all-day comfort.
