This past week, PUMA took over Braamfontein with an electrifying launch event for the iconic Speedcat sneaker.
The celebration paid tribute to the sneaker’s rich motorsport heritage, showcasing its signature sleek, race-inspired design. The choice of location wasn’t random either — Braamfontein, known as the cultural pulse of Johannesburg, served as the perfect backdrop for this high-energy affair.
The event was a sensory overload of sights, sounds, and experiences. Guests were treated to live performances from powerhouse acts Zee Nxumalo, Young Stunna, and Maglera Doe Boy, who kept the crowd hyped with electric sets that echoed through the streets. Drinks flowed, and the atmosphere was nothing short of a high-octane celebration.
Attendees didn’t just watch the action — they became part of it. The event space doubled as an interactive playground where fans could get hands-on with the Speedcat legacy. Display zones showcased past and present models of the sneaker, giving guests a chance to witness how the design has evolved over the years. The experience turned immersive with a racing game arena, letting attendees live out their racetrack dreams. And for the sneaker customizers, there was a personalization station where guests could add their own flair to the Speedcat silhouette.
The highlight of the night was the announcement of PUMA’s next big move. Artists Zee and Stunna are now part of PUMA South Africa’s Speedcat campaign, officially revving up for a nationwide rollout.
