On April 30, 1985, Michael Jordan accepted the NBA’s Rookie of the Year honours. During that year, he averaged 28.2 points per game and led the Chicago Bulls to a playoff berth.
Jordan Brand will be releasing the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG ‘Rookie Of The Year,’ which pays tribute to the brown shirt he wore while receiving the award.
Dressed in a gold harvest and black colour scheme, the sneaker is contrasted with white tumbled leather on the upper.
The high-top version features a detached layer on the ankle collar featuring MJ’s rookie stats and a hidden message by MJ himself that reads, “This award is nice, but I just feel it is very important for each individual to go out and contribute to his team.”
