This week, we head back to cinemas for another gem ‘Sinners’ a brand-new vampire western thriller from acclaimed filmmaker Ryan Coogler, starring none other than Michael B. Jordan, in a dual role. Yes, Jordan pulls double duty as gangster twins Smoke and Stack in a chilling, stylized tale set in the Deep South during the 1930s.
Trying to escape their violent past, the brothers return to their Mississippi hometown to open a juke joint, bringing bootlegged Irish beer and dreams of a fresh start. With their gifted cousin Sammie on guitar and a packed house for opening night, everything seems set for a new beginning. But the vibe turns dark real quick when Irish vampire Remmick (Jack O’Connell) crashes the party and unleashes chaos, turning the crowd into a blood-hungry swarm.
Coogler blends historical drama, supernatural horror, and gritty western energy into a visually rich, high-stakes thriller that feels fresh and fearless. Themes of racism, post-war trauma, and brotherhood run deep beneath the surface, all while vampires tear through the dance floor in true Coogler fashion.
With an all-star supporting cast including Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Delroy Lindo, and Omar Benson Miller, Sinners is must-watch if you’re into this kind of theme is movies.
The movie is now showing at local cinemas.
