Nigerian superstar BNXN (pronounced as Benson), fka Buju, is set to headline Johnnie Walker’s AfroExchange this Saturday, 28 June, at the Kyalami Grand Prix in Johannesburg.
Nigerian DJ sensation Dope Caesar also joins the lineup as the event celebrates a fusion of South African and Nigerian sounds, styles, and spirit.
The powerhouse lineup includes DJ Maphorisa, BNXN, Dope Caesar, Dlala Thukzin, Shakes & Les, and more. From high-octane DJ sets to fashion-forward expressions and immersive experiences, AfroExchange is the place to be if you’re about that next-level Afro-urban culture.
The event is more of a cultural summit for Africa’s brightest creatives, where they come under one roof for a celebration of culture, music, and fashion.
Bnxn’s journey through music has been nothing short of deliberate and dynamic. From the early stages of his career, he’s carved a lane defined by sharp storytelling, bold melodies, and a clear sense of purpose. His first major statement came in 2021 with Sorry I’m Late, a project that felt like both an introduction and a response to fans who had long awaited a body of work. That momentum only grew stronger with Bad Since ’97 in 2022, where collaborations with artists like Wizkid and Wande Coal helped spotlight his versatility and lyrical confidence. In 2023, he doubled down with Sincerely, Benson, a full-length album that stretched across 15 tracks and brought in global voices like Popcaan and Headie One. Just when fans thought they’d seen it all, Bnxn flipped the script in 2024, teaming up with Ruger—an unexpected collaborator given their past tensions—for a surprise joint EP titled RnB, a genre-blending project that showcased growth, maturity, and a fresh sonic direction.
