Netflix’s crime-drama series MARKED is now streaming and already making waves in South Africa.

The six-episode thriller (each running 40–50 minutes) is packed with tension, local flavor, and powerhouse performances from stars like Lerato Mvelase (Babalwa), Sphamandla Dhludhlu (Zweli Ncube), Desmond Dube (Zachariah), Ama Qamata (Palesa), Bonko Khoza (Lungile), S’Dumo Mtshali (Tebza), and the legendary Jerry Mofokeng (Baba G).

At the heart of the story is Babalwa, a former cop turned armored-truck driver for Iron Watch. She’s fearless, skilled, and loyal to her tight-knit crew, often outsmarting daring heists—including one where a street full of silver-painted mimes tries to block her truck and pull off a daring robbery. Her quick thinking saves the day, and her boss Zachariah even uploads the footage online to boost business—plus, she earns a bonus.

But life at home is tougher than any heist. Her teenage daughter Palesa, is recovering from cancer, and when she suffers a sudden seizure, doctors reveal the life-saving surgery costs a staggering 1.2 million rand at a private hospital. Church donations fall short, and Zachariah can’t help either.

Desperation pushes Babalwa toward the one man she’s avoided her whole life: Baba G, the charming yet ruthless crime boss who’s always wanted her as his insider at Iron Watch. With no other option, she makes a dangerous deal—help him pull off a truck heist in exchange for her daughter’s chance at life. But Babalwa insists on doing it her way, clashing with Baba G’s hot-headed protégé Zweli (Sphamandla Dhludhu).

Curious how it all goes down? Stream MARKED on Netflix to see it unfold…
