Instagram rolls out a new feature ‘Reposts’

Allowing users to repost public Reels and feed posts.

Instagram has recently rolled out a new feature called “Reposts”, allowing users to share content.

With the new reposts feature, Instagram now lets users repost public Reels and feed posts directly to their feeds.

All reposted content is credited to the original creator and appears in a dedicated tab on the user’s profile for easy access later.

Instagram says this feature gives creators a chance to reach new audiences — when someone reposts their content, it can be shown to that person’s followers, even if they don’t follow the creator.

“If you’re a creator, this means that if your content is reposted by someone else, it may be recommended to that person’s followers, even if those people don’t follow you. This gives creators an opportunity to reach even more people,” the Meta-owned company said in a statement.

To repost a post or a reel, users simply tap the repost icon. A thought bubble will appear on screen, allowing them to add a note before pressing save.
