Travis Scott pulled up for South Africa on Saturday, 11 October 2025, lighting up a jam-packed FNB Stadium where thousands of fired-up, high-energy fans were losing their minds over th moment.
Delivered by the good folks at Big Concerts, this show is arguably the best of 2025 in all things concerts-related, a true standout in South Africaโs concert history books.
It wasnโt the rapperโs first time on a South African stage, but his 2025 performance hit differently, as he put it himself, โTonight showed me something different.โ
In a mix of chaos surrounding lots of South African festivals and concerts hosted by other event organizers, even some that have taken place at FNB Stadium (not gonna mention names lol), I think itโs fair to give a massive shoutout to Big Concerts for pulling off a well-oiled show, starting from the very first step into the venue.

Above all, ensuring fan safety around the stadium was clearly a top priority.
Despite the expected traffic, getting to the venue was seamless. Clear directions, organized parking, and a dedicated ride-hailing zone made arrival stress-free. After the show? Sure, it got a bit hecticโฆ but nothing too crazy.
Security was well-covered across the FNB Stadium precinct, with SAPS, parking officials, pedestrian marshals, and crime prevention teams all actively monitoring people around the venue.
Crowd control, pickpocketing, and overall safety are usually big concerns at massive events like this, especially in South Africa, but the organizers truly put those fears to rest.
To understand why safety took center stage at this show, it helps to look back at what unfolded in 2021 during Travis Scottโs Astroworld Festival in Houston. The event turned tragic when eight people lost their lives and dozens were injured, while Houston police and firefighters responded to a โmass casualtyโ situation.
Per BBC, footage from the night captured chaos in the crowd, fans screaming out โstop the showโ and pleading with staff for help. And the rapper had to end his set 15 to 20 minutes ahead of the expected time.
Now, if you know how wild a Travis Scott crowd can get, youโll understand why the organizers weren’t playing games when it came to the safety of fans. The show was open to adults/teens/youth, and teens under 16 were allowed only if accompanied by a responsible adult. Even then, anyone under 18 had to be at least 1.6m tall to the ground standing and general zones of the venue, cause, as expected, that’s where there was a riot of energy.
Yeah, one can easily say these measures are too strict, but they made perfect sense.
The stadium layout was well thought out, split into several sections, including Front Zones, General Access, stadium seating, and premium areas like VIPs and Suites.

At the centre of it all was a gigantic top-tier-showpiece stage setup on the ground level, with the Front and General zones wrapping around it from the sides and front.
While fans had to wait a little longer than expected (reportedly, Travis was an hour late….melting face emoji), and with a drizzle of rain, the moment Travis finally hit the stage, it was ALL-WORTH-IT! The energy instantly shifted, and the patience paid off big time.
One fan hit Twitter to say touch on the late performance saying, โTravis Scott finally gets on stage, over an hour late,โ but the rapper cleared the air saying, โWasnโt a hour late. Lighting delay brudda Flame always ready.โ
Mid-performance, emotion, and a sense of being overwhelmed were written all over him. He knelt, head bowed, pausing in a moment that captured just how much he was touched by how South Africa showed up for him.
One of the biggest standouts in terms of the setupโwithout a doubtโ was the stage paired with the lighting design. Each song introduced its own visual language, deep reds, sharp whites, and strobes, transforming the stadium into a full-blown head-turning experience.
His setlist covered major fan favourites like Sicko Mode, Goosebumps, and FE!N.
But the real highlight? Travis performed FE!N not once, but six times each round, met with explosive energy from the crowd.
Although heโs usually not full of talk on Twitter, he couldnโt help but express how moved he was, sharing, โNahhhhhh yall set TONEโ and later adding, โTonight showed me something different.โ
So now that Big Concerts have set the bar this high, who could be next on their radar to shut down FNB Stadium like that?….Mhm!
