Smirnoff Ice Recharges Festive Season With Mampara Month

As the last Mampara Week of the year rolled in and Mzansi geared up for full-blown Dezemba mode, Smirnoff ICE turned the “slow season” into a countrywide ignition, bringing heat and a whole lot of flavour to Braamfontein. The streets of Jozi came alive as the brand took over Cheeky’s Street Bar with an energy that reminded everyone why Smirnoff ICE stays at the heart of youth culture.

Mzansi’s favourite ready-to-drink, Smirnoff ICE, has been on a run of joy-packed culture takeovers, owning some of the most charged music moments across the country. In a time when the rand is low and mid-month pockets are tight, Smirnoff ICE once again proved that joy doesn’t need a premium price tag, just the right vibe and the right crowd.

With its bold, refreshed packaging and exciting flavours, the final Mampara Week of 2025 lit up Braamfontein with electric beats and a dance floor full of creatives, groovists, and fashion-forward vibe shifters. The night didn’t just go off, it set the tone for the entire festive season.

A cultural melting pot from start to finish, the lineup brought together the artists shaping the sound of modern urban youth culture. Shakes & Les, Slade, Soul Nativez, Andii, Anchorbee, and Mxrgiela delivered high-energy sets that kept the crowd moving till the very end.

But the hype didn’t stop at the headline acts. In true Smirnoff ICE spirit, a spirit that champions access, opportunity, and culture creation, the road to Mampara Week opened the stage to up-and-coming DJs through a national call-out. From hundreds of submissions, Jozi’s rising stars DJ Mnisi and Sthibo De Beat earned their moment behind the decks, giving the crowd a taste of the next wave of talent and kicking off Dezemba energy before it even arrived.

And now, the vibes don’t stop because January is Mampara Month in South Africa.
That time of the year when pockets are light, budgets are tight, and everyone is fresh out of December’s groove-heavy spending. But this year, Smirnoff ICE isn’t letting the country slow down. Throughout the entire month of January, the brand will keep the energy high with accessible refreshment, nonstop vibes, and moments that remind South Africans that fun doesn’t have to break the bank.

Expect Smirnoff ICE to stay active across the country, popping up in unexpected places, fuelling spontaneity, and bringing joy even when the budget says “Mampara.” With its affordable range including Berry Twist, Pine Twist, Guarana and the refreshed sleek ICE bottle, the brand is championing pocket-friendly enjoyment during a month known for stretching every rand.

According to Ifeoma Agu, Head of Culture SW, “Our Smirnoff ICE Mampara Week city takeovers are a cultural platform where we celebrate our consumers for what they contribute to Africa’s budding cultural landscape. South Africans have embraced Smirnoff ICE for bringing ease to their pockets at a time when access to cultural experiences can feel limited. As we move into January, the ultimate Mampara Month, we’re continuing that mission. We’re keeping the energy alive with affordable joy and more culture moments that make choosing fun a possibility, regardless of the month. In 2026, we look forward to expanding Mampara Week and deepening our footprint across the country.”

Consumers can keep the vibes alive by grabbing the new Smirnoff ICE packs at leading retailers nationwide, including Makro, Checkers Sixty60, Pick n Pay, and Takealot. For more information on where the brand will show up next, stay tuned to our Instagram @SmirnoffSA.
