Original article published [Sunday, 12 April 2026]: In a report by the Sunday World, French media company Canal+ is said to be exiting the DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival as part of continued cost-cutting at MultiChoice.
For those new to this, MultiChoice, which owns DStv, has now been acquired by Canal+.
This effectively means DStv could lose its naming-rights position at DStv Delicious.
Report suggest Canal+ is moving away from the sponsorship, indicating MultiChoice may end its support for the festival.
The DStv Delicious Festival has become known for its annual showcase at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, drawing thousands of attendees each year over a two-day experience during its 13-year run under MultiChoiceโs DStv sponsorship.
The festival has brought international acts to South Africa, including Janet Jackson, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Babyface, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes, and Burna Boy.
Since its full acquisition, Canal+ has introduced major changes, with MultiChoice recently shutting down its streaming platform Showmax and moving its content to DStv Stream.
